I am never ordering the custom fit plug wires again! Those things are a bitch to cut and still get the little center wire sticking out enough to install the hei distributor plug ends :nut Damn. I used the silicon spray the accell guy did on youtube. Still a dog to get into the plug end. I guess I am turning into a pussy or something...my fingers were aching :shee

lol, I had just as hard of a time as you did, but I won't get generic wires again because they never fit right. I'd rather spend the hour cutting wires to fit than have a mess in my engine bay.

Bought a nice set of inserts (with cutter/stripper section) for my ratcheting crimpers that make this a breeze. I can do a set in 20-30 minute, including measuring.

I've assembled approx 4 sets over the years and the 1st was a pain but you learn. WD40 or a silicone spray is your friend. I use needle nose pliers to carefully pull the wire thru the dist end and then a sharp razor blade to carefully trim the outer jacket and expose the inner core. Custom is the way to go for a good fit.

what were you using to cut/strip/crimp? the tool i used made it really almost beyond easy. the small tool that came with a set of MSD wires i had sucked.

I wish I had gotten the correct tool to do this. I was using a pair of wire strippers/crimpers and this just did not do right. I will get the right tool next time... :bomb

Never had a problem with my custom set.

You need to come to the Pensacola show next week. I'll bring a bottle of Yukon Jack and we can get Midlife stoned and he could wear the mankini while strutting around the fairgrounds....lol :roll
