New 17x10 wheels

Just got my new wheels for my 70 Mach1

Raceline 17x10 rear
285/40 nitto's
6.5" BS

Very tight, but looks like they will work with a little "massaging" of fender lip and inside of wheel well.

well the list of mods is long. Been a 4 yr labor of love. I've done everything but build the motor.

Rear is a TCP G-bar triangulated 4 link
Front is fat man fab 95 style strut suspension
Motor is a 408w with late model efi...still working on the tune. Made 450 hp to tires w previous tune before some more mods
Interior is stock but w fiero seats with leather covers by mr. Mike's
Modern gauges
Power windows power locks keyless entry.

It's close to hitting the road. Just need to finish tune and clean up engine bay plus install mach1 rockers etc. looking forward to burning up these tires!

you shouldn't have any ride issues with those tires. i'm running 285/40-17's on 9.5" wheels with no problems.

the only thing i'm not really happy with is the height of the tire. wish it were a tad taller to help fill up a bit more of those oval fenderwells. i'm really anal about wheel/tire fit & IMO there's just a little too much space in the front & rear of the tire for my liking. maybe if i ever get around to blacking out the inner fenderwells it will blend a little better... only way to go taller in 17's is to go narrower too (255) or go to a 20" rear wheel which would require an 18 on the front to keep things proportional.

front wheels fit as well. although suspension has not settled back down. Plenty of room up front. Rear appears to be off center about 1/4". easy to fix with a four link. Will have to roll rear fenders slightly or raise ride height.

One problem on fronts. Valve stems are behind spoke and they hit calipers (13" rotors). Even rub without valve caps. Stems are 1-3/8
long. Wonder if i can find shorter stems...like 1"?
