New Magnaflow exhaust done.

I switched out the Headman long tube headers I was running before for a set of JBA Shorty headers. While I was at it I got rid of my Dronemasters and replaced them with a set of Magnaflows. I had my exhaust gut bend me some new stainless pipes while adding flanges at different points to make it easy to remove the rear end or tranny if needed. I also added a set of DMH low profile electric cutouts. I haven't added the wiring for the cutouts yet. Once I get that done and the weather improves I will take some video. I had to drive the car home from the exhaust shop in the snow. That was a pretty interesting drive. Here are some pictures.

The only problem I had with the JBA's is with the steering shaft on my rack. I had to reduce the diameter from 3/4" to about 5/8". I think this is a problem because I use lowering motor mounts. If I had standard height mounts it would not have been an issue. I could have moved the engine back about 1/2" to fix the problem but it would have caused more clearance problems with my blower intake and oil pan. It was easier to make one mod to fix the problem than addressing 2 new ones.

Looks nice Darrell! Those cutouts are awesome.

I thought it would not be too far off until I would be installing the exhaust on my car but, with the really cold weather here lately I haven't been able to get myself out to the garage.

Then my wife decided she wanted a house at the coast. So we just bought a house at the coast.

I will not have any car money for a while. :nut

Congrats on the house Chris. My wife and I are talking with a builder right now about a new house. I am about 80% sure we will go for it. Custom construction so the lending side of it is a real PITA. The best part is it will have a 5 car garage. It will look like 3 from the front but will be double deep on 2 bays. :thu

I will go down and pick up the old Flowmasters this week, if I have time that is. If you still want them let me know. Warning though, be prepared for the annoying drone they put out. It may be different with and FE but at least the price is right.

The exhaust looks great!, Do you have any sounds clips? I'd be interested to hear it.
Can you PM me any info you have on your LOWERING MOTOR mounts. My engine sits so high, id like to try anything to lower it.
Thanks

No sound clips yet. I want to wait for the weather to improve. I actually had to drive the car home in the snow the other day. Not what I wanted to do. To top it off I forgot to hook up my PCV and the engine ran like crap. HUGE vacuum leak! Once the weather warms up and I can give the car a bath I will post some clips of the exhaust. It does sound much more exotic than that of the flowmasters. I still need to wire the cutouts. I hope to have that done this week. Just need to figure out where I want to put the switch. I don't really want to put another hole in my console so it may end up being next to the power top switch.

As far as the motor mounts go I am using Ron Morris mounts. He has two versions, lowering and standard height. Here is a link to the site.

It is pretty ridiculous what we had to go through to get the loan all finalized. Even with no debt and spotless credit it was a PIA. I feel for anyone that is trying to purchase or sell a house right now. I hope that works out for you. I would love to sell our main residence and buy a place with a larger garage. It's kinda sad the beach house has a bigger garage than I have here.

Thanks again for the hook up with the mufflers, I really appreciate it. At the moment I am not in a hurry to get the mufflers from you as I am not at all sure when I am going to get the exhaust installed. If you want to get them out of your garage I can take them anytime.
