I buy/sell stuff ALL THE TIME to people I have never met and have no clue about. I'm in the middle of a number of big dollar deals now for some stuff for the new truck. Just use common sense in how you conduct the transaction. If you waited for someone you know to buy everything you wanted to sell you would rarely sell a thing.
If the guy is not local use a pay service like Paypal or such to handle the money portion. You ship when you get the cash...and it is secure in your hands (so to speak).
