My "trusty" German sedan had to go in for repair for the third time since it went out of warranty in November, and the future was scaring me. I figured it's time to make a change. I haven't had a modern Mustang since my '03 Mach 1. This car is great fun to drive and well finished. No wonder they are everywhere on the roads. Time to shop for exhaust and springs.

:pbj Nice looking car. I would love to buy a late model for a summer DD but I've got too many cars as it is right now....

Saaaaa Weeeeeeeet :vic :vic

I'd have one of those If I didn't live down so much dirt/gravel. If you could see the normal state of our cars you'd understand!

I'm sure Skip (Mach1ne) could verify the mud, I left a pile of it on his driveway Saturday :ecit

Oh do not get me wrong as they are nice looking Mustangs. It is just the rear of it that I am not to fond of. :beat That and the fact that the 2011 is suppose to have a 400+ hp 5.0 under the hood. :amaz Now unless it has changed that much under the rear, and I do not think that they have, new mufflers are easy. Took me less that 1/2 hour to install the Ford Racing mufflers. The suspension mods are a different story, that is on my to do list. Just $$ is the issue right now. They are a blast to drive! :coo Thanks for buying American and better yet a Ford! :vic fd

Son is only 15 and no license yet, but he has laid claim to it. He'll get to drive it plenty I'm sure.

'03 745i sport. fast, smooth, scary expensive to fix.
Nice car.

Cheap to buy now but very expensive to maintain...same story with the A8 and the S-Class.

agree the rear could have been better done, but the rest makes up for it. really like the new interior. Thought about waiting for a 2011, but the incentives on the 2010's were too good to pass up. I have never not owned a Ford of some type since 1975. I guess I'm a brand loyal guy.

I had a 6yr 100K mile bumper to bumper warranty since new. Didn't care when BMW paid to fix stuff. Unless you work as a tech at the dealership this is not a used car the average guy wants to buy. Very high tech. Still it was a blast to own. I used to surprise people often. Embarrassing to get blown away by an old man's car.

And we are to be forever grateful for his contributions to that thread. :wor :wor :wor

7 series bimmers seem to be very prone to break and very few owners are happy with them. My 06 530xi is going strong but parts for it are just as expensive. They want $800-1000 for the bi-annual service for my car and I laughed at them.

When replacing my 525, I turned away from these for the same reason. Instead, I fell in love with a '91 M5 - everybody told me that would be worse. 130k later, it's been one of the most reliable cars I've owned. Parts are expensive even from the aftermarket, as only 15,000 made. Oh, and I do the work myself, so no labor (which is a huge charge - a tune up runs $900 at the dealer, I can do one for $175 in parts).

Best place I've found for BMW parts is http://bmaparts.com/ - fast, great prices & service.

I have driven 05 -09 V6 rentals and the 2010 V6 rentals. The 2010 is sooo much nicer driving and better quality feel inside. I agree the rear-end styling was a bad move but it is growing on me. On Valentine's day my wife surprised me and said she wanted to look at Mustang GT's and we test drove one that looks like the one 1497 bought. We were really tempted! My wife really wants an 07 Shelby GT. I would like to wait for the 2011 5.0 and my checking account wants us both to forget the whole idea!
