New TV fiasco

So I search over the lst few weeks on the internet for a good price on a 26" flat screen for the kitchen. We would be replacing a old tube set with inoperable buttons. So I find a deal on a Vizio LED/LCD 1080 on Amazon through Target for $284 delivered. Same TV at Costco for $289 cost (then add taxes/eco fee). So I go for the Amazon deal. It arrives Wednesday.
Set it up. Not a great picture and the sound is poor quality but hey its for the kitchen and the picture is a result of the weakest link which is the cable I'm using to get the signal from upstairs TV. So it works. Turn it off and go watch our normal TV upstairs.
Later in the evening I check it out just to see how it is again and ...nothing. Will not turn on. :wtf Change wall plugs. cords. try to find a switch on the TV itself...nope. Only can use the power button on the remote. Nothing. Change batteries in the remote. Nada...its dead. :bomb
Thursday I check Amazon website and get a return label. Today I sent it back UPS.
Went to Costco and bought the same TV....$47 more though...and its working fine.

Seems the last in the Target warehouse must have been kicked around some and decided to stop working when I got it. Oh well.

Sounds like a pita. Electronics are so hit and miss with quality. You never know when you are going to get a lemon.

Amazon wouldn't just replace it?

I stay in a motel in Idaho Falls and they have the smaller Vizio TVs. The sound sucks and the picture is horrible for a flat panel.

I prefer all the otehr brands to the Vizio.

I am glad it worked out for you Mike....

Amazon website said it was the last in stock that I got. Hence the reason for why it didn't work I guess....and the low price. As for pic and sound quality. Well it ain't our main TV so I really didn't care. Anything out there wuld be better than the old 19" tube RCA....but the RCA had better sound.
