I'll have to give Joey a shout, haven't heard from him much since he got the new DD.

Lots of '60's muscle racing, I hope to get to this 1/4mi. track and run against Craig in the SF dragcar but if he moves we may have to do it in GA.
Thunderbolt!!!

Burnout contest winner, only 2 cars entered, the first was a 2002 corvette and the driver couldn't get it to do a burnout :homo:
Then the crew chief got in the car and melted the tires. This guy won (forgot what kind of car it was but the driver was 82! he knew how to do a burnout. The announcer came down on the track to survey the car/smoke/ track and walked right through the rubber :peter
then announced over the loud speaker 'so much for my new nikes, they are melted to the track, didn't know it would do that....' which was pretty hilarious.

Had a great day and was worn out after 6 hrs., will do it again when I get a chance, learned you have to bring your own beer if you want to drink, they allow it but don't sell it. There was a loud know it all in a wife beater keeping everyone entertained between races whether you wanted to be or not, I found it pretty funny, he told matter-of-fact (to him) stories nonstop.

That looks like a great time. I would love to hook up with you at a drag race somewhere. We will be at U.S. 60 Dragway in Hardinsburg, KY on Sept. 17th. I hope Craig will be able to make it. All we have around here are 1/8th mile tracks around here.

Yeah, I met a guy from the MCA website by accident, we were talking about his '66 and Joey mentioned my forum name and he recognized it from there, happy to put a face to a name.
There is an NMRA natl. at Bowling Green the weekend of Sept. 29th,

I hope to make that one too, the wife said she wanted to go this time so we'll see if she gets her wish. It'd be great to meet another SF member. I'll have to ask Craig if he can make the Sept. one.
There's a member from another forum who's in Elizabethtown I believe who has a '67 done similar to mine also.

I'm bummed I couldn't make it. I did enjoy the NSRA show. Drag racing at Beach Bend is great, what did you and Joey think of the track?
I got to see the Cobra Jet clone, it's going to be pretty cool!
