NMRA Ford Shootout. Few Pics

Went to the Ford Shootout in Bradenton Fl. yesterday. I went in 2009 and 2010 and had a good time. This year was a little disappointing. The car show had 0 classics (Previous years were pretty decent) and the swap meet was so so. Was at least hoping to see some good drag racing but a car had blown up and spewed oil all over the track. Took about two hours to clean the track so we were only able to see a few of the street division cars run before having to leave. There were some nice 68.5 cobra jets that I would have loved to see run. The Ring Brothers also had their Producer there. What a piece of art! Stunning craftsmanship! That car made it worth the price of admission. Few pics from the event.

thanks for sharing, I always go the the NMRA World Finals in Bowling green. Like you noticed, the classics are outnumbered, usually by Fox body Stangs. I love the Cobra Jet!!!

I think the Ring Bros. cars are a little over done but they always have some interesting styling cues that I like on every car they build. One thing here...maybe a handful of things here. Maybe it's a design idea that I think could be improved upon in a subtler way. Either way, it's kind of cool.

I agree somewhat. Its not what I would do with my personal car but at the same time it is a work of art and the craftsmanship is amazing.

One of their 67s had shark gills behind the front wheel well for engine bay heat exhaust. That's exactly what these things needed. It looked a bit odd though.

I am impressed by their workmanship and different touches like the offset striping on the hood. Trying to figure out what the 3 or more round 'gas cap' appearing pieces are in both side panels and where the stock antenna would be on the front right? Seems odd that the hood pins are so prominent when everything else is flushed? There are plenty of flush hood pin designs. What's the blue circle on the bottom left next to the huge intercooler?
I like the bullit mirrors if I could find them in spun alum. with wide angle lenses. Can't say I'm digging the gauges, seems like they started with one and ended up with 4 installed separately, but different!

That CobraJet is awesome, hopefully I can get to the NMRA in KY this year and it'll be there.

The body of the car was widened by 4 inches. Look at the picture from the rear in the link.
