No Fuel to Carb

Okay, finally got off my arse and put the new fuel pump (at least my S-I-L did) on the 64 1/2. Didn't correct the problem. Put a hillbilly gas tank on ( hose in a jar to the fuel pump) fired right up. Isolated the problem to be from the tank to the pump. Plan on running the line back to the tank to see if there is a break. Any other check before having to drop the tank? :hmm :rant

Re: No Fuel to Card

is it the original hard line from the tank to pump? it may be stopped up with rust scale. when I bought my car, it had a new tank & pump but still had fuel issues. ended up being the line full of 40 yrs of rust.

Re: No Fuel to Card

I assume that it's the original. It's at least 28 years old. If I don't find any breaks I'll disconnect it and put some air through it. Before dropping the tank.

Yup, Sure sounds like a plugged up hard line. Very easy to replace. And while you're at it, you might consider replacing the tank as well, or have your tank boiled. But if it's an original tank with no drain plug, here's your chance to get one with a plug.
