I bought some new rotors for the TA...it's breaking like at least one of the old ones is warped. Pulse in the peddle, shaking when braking, etc.

I was looking at the rotors this evening and noticed that one of the new ones is kind of "rough" for lack of a better term on the inside. It's almost like someone sprayed texture paint type of finish in there. Between the races where the bearings would sit is the rough spot.

Is this an issue to worry about?

I'm thinking if this area may not touch the spindle since I would think it would be sitting on the bearings.

One of them is really rough the other one not so much but has one slight rough spot while the rest is smooth. I wasn't sure whether this would fark up my spindle or not but I'd a lot rather ask first then find out the hard way.

Bearings sit on the races. As llong as the 'schmutz' on the inside of the casting does not protrude onto the spindle, I wouldn't worry about it n get them on the car.

Cool..I'll have them installed shortly but I gotta get the boys on their bikes and headed to school first.

I was thinking probably that part does not sit on the spindle but the directions if memory serves do say to smear grease in that area prior to install.

Yeah, it's basically extra grease for the wheel bearings. But since that area doesn't actually touch anything, there's no reason for the manufacturer to machine down the rough casting surface.

It's all good and got them installed.

Didn't take too long since the job isn't really that much work but now I have new front pads, rotors and bearings.

I had to take a break ealier to drop off my door panel at my buddy's shop but it's all good. Got it all put back together and took her for a spin around the block :steer

If I get time this evening I have to drill out some screws to get the door latch out. The power lock won't work because the latch is old / crudy and too stiff for the power lock to move. Have a new latch on the way.

Guess this one will be like the Mustang was...little by little over a couple of years.
