That's what you get when you're a DOT employee and you stop by the county prison every morning to pickup your cheap labor. What do you expect the work release detainee's to be? Obviously not good spellers. LMAO

Duane, I'll have to forward that to my daughter. As I type, she is in NC scouting it out as a possible place to move to. She is hoping that NC, being on the east coast, is more sophisticated than here in Texas. Can I use you as an example?

Lol.

Feel free. I'll even pop in my bubba teeth and wear my mullet wig. That pic was taken somewhere in the Greensboro area if I remember reading it correctly. It was on Yahoo's front page. Seriously though, if she needs anything let me know. Where is she looking and what is she looking for?

Depends where in NC and where in TX. :lol

btw, NC school system, atleast there in Havelock, SUCKED compared to Texas schools. I was so glad we finally moved out of NC and got my kids back in Texas school system.

Maybe you just had dumb kids? LOL. I'm unsure which schools your kids attended, but if you lived on the "Harlow" side of town I can sympathize with your comments. The schools our kids have gone to are on "the better side of town" and have NC's highest education rating as "Schools of Exellence". Our almost 16 year old daughter is enrolled full-time at the counties local community college where she'll graduate HS with a two year Associate's degree that's fully transferable to ECU. Yeah, it sucks.... not.

We lived in Texas, up in Ft Worth before the USMC sent us to Cherry Pit. When we arrived in NC and put my daughter back in school, the school was behind the Texas school she attended. My son already knew how to count to 100 thanks to Texas schooling but when we got to NC and he was in kindergarten, the teacher proudly told the parents that the kids will learn to count all the way up to 10, yes TEN, by the end of the year. :eek:mg

We lived in Slocum housing and both went to Graham A Barden elementary and my daughter moved up and went to Havelock Middle School. My kids make As & Bs .. and several times the A honor roll, oh and my daughter is currently enrolled in a collegiate high school as well where she takes college classes and graduates with a HS diploma and an Associate's degree. :craz

When we moved from NC back to TX, and got the kids back in school... they were behind their classmates and had to play catch up because NC schools slacked.

Havelock Middle School

Sorry, but it's common knowledge around here that this school is nothing more than a breeding ground for wannabe thugs, sluts, gang-bangers and juvenile drug addicts. People that don't care or know any better let their kids attend. I have friends that live in the neighborhood directly behind that school that adjust their work schedule to drive their kids to the "better part of town" to attend school. This isn't a personal attack on you or your kids, I'm as usual just telling you how it is.

I know, most folks took their kids to the other middle school on the northern part of town. For the life of me can't remember the name of it. I didn't like HMS either, but being military and broke and having one vehicle didn't allow me to drop her off or pick her up plus someone had to be at the gate at GAB to meet my son and walk him home. She loved the band teacher and loved band there and all her friends went there including her best friend who lived across the street from us. Plus I knew we only had a couple of years left there and she wouldn't have to stay at that school the entire middle school years.

What really pissed me off about the school was the uniform dress code they started like a year before we moved. I don't mind school dress codes, but damn if they can't enforce a normal dress code (no baggy jeans, shorty shorts, slutty or gang looking clothes, etc), then WTF made them think they could enforce a uniform of khaki pants & belt and white/blue/red polo shirts? :ep The "gangsta's" still wore baggy khaki pants and belts but wore extra long polo shirts to cover up the fact their butts were still hanging out of their pants and nothing was said to them. Yet my daughter wore a dark red polo shirt one day and I get called because she has on the wrong color red? Oh hell no. I went up there and started bitching out the office. :lol
