Nurburgring in the 70's

Wow! No seat belts in some of those cars. What were they thinking that a VW bug in stock condition can be on a road race track???? And a convertible with passengers in the back to boot??

That dude falling out was classic! Must've been some kind of open run what you brung track day. See how much crap flew out of the cars when they flipped? One of the first ones looked like the kids homework flew out the broken window..

I remember a column in Motor Trend, I think, many years ago; the author wrote about how one could just pay a bit and get on the track. He mentioned there might be Micro busses sharing the track with race cars practicing. He said he asked about liability, insurance and the like, and got a shake of the head and the response "Only in America." Like they just didn't worry about it.

Well it backrupt right now and up for sale but they still consider it a tool road per se. Anyone can get on it for the price of admission.
