Oil Dipstick Level

Each time I take a look on the oil level, one side is always ~3/8" higher than the other side. Which is the correct side? And, why is that?

Oil level before doing the engine build was level on both sides. I think you're missing the point. I need a 2nd and 3rd opinion! :lol

I should have put a smiley emoticon onto my post. I was attempting humor.

Having the oil level mark on the dipstick 3/8ths higher on one side doesn't make much sense. If your dipstick is entering the oil pan at a LARGE angle it would explain it, but it shouldn't be angled that greatly. I'm at a loss to explain it, sorry.

IIRC, you have the same pan I do and I don't remember ever seeing that on my dipstick. I'm with Dave on this, either it's bending at an extreme angle once in the pan or something is on the stick that lets oil slide off of one side only.

Very strange.

Could the dipstick be rubbing the tube so that it wipes oil on one side, giving a false high reading? I have that happen quite a bit actually.
