Oil for my Ecoboost Edge

The SWMBO's Edge is over a 1,000 miles now. I am going to wait until 3,000 before I think about changing the oil. It took a little over a month to put the miles on it. Her work is 5 to 6 miles a day round trip. Like my 2007 Mustang GT Ford recommends the synthetic blend oil. However I am thinking of going full synthetic 5W-30. Reason is that Costco sells Mobil 1 for a good price compared to the Valvoline Durablend 5W-20 that I use in the Mustang. I may stretch it to 5,000 miles after the first change. Anyone else use full synthetic in a modern engine?

They use semi synthetic oil. I let the dealership do it. They always have coupons for oil changes at 24.99. It's cheaper than doing it myself.

Yes I use Pennzoil platnium full synthetic in my 3.5 ecoboost at 5000 mile intervals. I pick it up at Wal-mart for around 24.00 for the 5qt. jug.

It's quick and doesn't cost me any more than doing it myself. I have enough stuff to do so why not.
