I got a new computer at work and all of my loaded music disappeared (on the computer).

I still have it in my iphone 5. How the heck to I re-copy the music from my iphone back into itunes?

I can't figure this 'intuitive' operating system out. If it was truly intuitive, I should be able to select the music in the iphone (via My computer) and paste it into the itunes music listing. but Nooooooooo. This is not an option.

Any assitance would be appreciated.

If you have iTunes on your computer and you connect your phone to your computer iTunes should update with what's on your phone.

You just ran into why I hate everything iTunes related.
You have to reinstall iTunes and then sync it with the phone.

Giganto, if this is indeed true, that's ok as I have not added any music to my new laptop..... I'll try this.

You will not be able to simply download from your iPhone to your Macbook. You will need to use a 3rd party vendor tool to do so seamlessly. Can be frustrating for the uninitiated...
However, as I am sure you have backed up all your data to your iCloud, you should easily be able to download from your latest back up on the cloud... tada!

I bought a book on cassette at the used book store while we traveled on vacation. Paid $1. Put the old Walkman to use.

Yeah you are screwed. You can't put the music back on the computer from the phone you need a back up of the computer. This is why I pay 25.00 a year for iTunes Match. It makes all these problem go away.
