OMG...what a dumbass!

Oh that is just precious! What a f*cking idiot!! Water to put out a gasoline fire?! The hose down the carb is a riot!!

Thanks for posting, I needed that!

He's trying to build a ricer out of a Miata...no surprise really.

However, would you continue to try and start it after it caught fire? :shrug

In general, yes. In his case no.

When firing up an engine that gives you a flame resulting backfire through the carb the best thing you can do is crank it and draw the fire back into the engine. Problem in this case is the dumb ass had gas leaking and fire across the top of the whole engine.

He could have just as easily taken his shirt off and smothered it pretty easily too. Not a guy who handles crisis very well!

It appears to me after watching it that the initial fire started down low on the left side near the steering column. You know, directly below where the moron had the gas can......hmmmmm. :confu

It then flamed up underneath from the area of the floor and then spread instantly across the top of the engine. When he pulled the hose from the can he left it dangling over the side of the car (starting to drizzle gas on the floor?), which then flared up from the floor outside of the engine bay as he's trying to move the can from the car. No amount of cranking in the world would have stopped that baby. I think he basically had raw gas all over the darn place when he tried to crank it. The IDIOT!!

Can we say "Hey ya'll, watch this!" ?
