One of my crazy friends does a jump.

YeeeHawww! :thu

My best friend tried that with his truck. I would be outside watching the jump to see how high he got it. Of course, it was never high enough! LOL

Who woulda figured you could bend a set of I-beams on a '73 Ford doing that?! :roll

You guys know this video is what gave Ford the inspiration for the Raptor.

When my old roommate first got his truck (a used '03 Silverado 1500 in good condition), he had it on the Pismo dunes within a month. We took it out just to cruise, and he decided it was a good idea to jump it. Got some pretty good air the first couple times, then he hit a hill crooked and almost rolled us. Bounced every corner of the suspension off the bump stops when it hit and I damn near crapped my pants. In the process he blew out both front shocks, ripped the lower bumper cover (and fog lights) off, and bent the gravel pan and transmission crossmember.

Moral of the story: stock trucks are not meant to be jumped...

I agree. Even after the "plowing a furrow" landing, the only apparent damage the truck suffered was the front bumper being bent. He pulled out with the tractor and was ready to go again. Nuts!

If I can ever convince one of my buddies to buy a $500 beater we're gonna "dirt track it" at the house. That kinda stuff is what life is about man!
