Ordering a 2025 350

F 350 that is. Getting spoiled in my old age, so I need the bells and whistles. Our 2002 F 150 is doing ok, but it is 22 years old and only has 178k miles on it. I wanted another supercab and 8 foot bed, not available in the 150. So Super Duty it is. Then I upped the ante to a 350. But for 25 the XLT was the highest trim level available with the 8 foot bed. On to the crew cab and 8 foot. Now I can get the Platinum trim. Have that on our 21 Explorer, and it is just nice to drive in comfort. I have an appointment at my credit union on Thursday, not for financing, to order the truck. Do not have to deal with the dealership. Bought mt 07 Mustang that way.

For some reason they quit offering the Supercab in any trim above the XLT. My guess is they will drop it all together next year. I mean who in their right mind would purchase a Supercab, especially in red. The Platinum is the top of the line, but you can get the Platinum Plus package that brings it close to what the Limited was last year. It has a funky interior in the Plus package. I am looking at ordering a 2025 Platinum F450 to replace my current F350.

As with the Limited 2024 it only came with the diesel, the plat plus is the same, only with the diesel. I wanted the 7.3 gas. If I pull a trailer it is not going to be a house, I already have a class C RV. Maybe get a car trailer. I wanted 2 things, an 8 foot box and a cab with all the luxuries. And Mike, the same color as our Explorer Star White Metallic Tri-Coat. If I had a garage to keep it in and summer months not in the 90’s and 100’s it would be a fun color. Like a red or blue. The other fun thing is that I am not using a Ford dealership. My credit union has an “auto expert” and it is like a fleet order. So no sitting in the dealership for hours waiting for the finance idiot, only to have them try and up sale as much as possible. I used them to buy my 07 Mustang. They will transport it from the dealership to the credit union. IMG_0745.jpegIMG_0744.jpeg

You're destroying our planet with these ridiculous monstrosities. Think about all the poor little creatures of the earth that will die because you have to drive these air fouling, penis enhancing symbols of masculinity. Why not an electric truck?

While I know you are being facetious, electric trucks are only good for soccer moms. I read an article where a guy used a Tesla truck was used for a truck like thing, towing, and it had about a 100 mile range. Can you imagine having to stop 5-7 times a day to charge? I do think the majority of truck owners do not need the 3/4 and one ton trucks as most just go back and forth to the mall. For those of us that use them as designed, there is no alternative.

I would argue most truck owners would do just fine with a Maverick. It has a bed big enough for most trips to the hardware store, seats 4 people and fits in a new small parking space.

Maybe a guy that was training service dogs and compared the ease of dog entry side by side with the crew cab :p

My 2002 has 178k miles, that works out to about 8k a year. Spare ride that happens to have an 8 foot bed for hauling stuff. All electric? maybe a golf cart, but I do not play. Hybrid maybe, but overall we do not drive that much on a daily basis anymore. Retirement is great. And this is my last truck. Maybe driving another 15 years and by that time everything will be electric or hydrogen.
