Well if I wasn’t into enough things already, my sons and I have joined a group of RC rock crawling and will be doing some drag racing RC’s also.

I just build plastic models occasionally. My son did it also back in his younger days. His were all aircraft....WWII mostly. Use to hang from his bedroom ceiling in formation and staged attacks. When he got the GF the all migrated to the garage ceiling.

I have only built the LeMans Vette and Ford GT lately.

You're forgetting the Lego Mustang!

I got a traxxas rustler just after the holidays because my son got back into RC with his friends. Oh my how things have progressed in the last 25 years or so of RC. Brushless motors and LiPo batteries are night and day different than the old power options. I can't even get to full throttle unless I'm going with the wind. Otherwise, the slightest blip of the throttle causes it to lift the front wheels off the ground and flip if you stay into it. I'm tempted to break out my old oval track car and try it with a LiPo battery / speed control to see what sort of speed I can get out of it.

just be careful, the modern ESC has a low voltage cut-off for LiPo. If the voltage drops too low they become very unstable. Old school ESC's do not have this feature.

I do that too. I am trying to build a Mustang of each year. 8-11-19(1).jpg
