Our German Shepard bloated last night.

Our senior German Shepard Fiona bloated last night. If it was not for the quick thinking of the wife, knowing what was going on with her and where to take her on a holiday weekend, she would not be here. The battle is not over yet. They flipped her stomach and removed the spleen. Bleeding is the issue now. We went to visit her this morning. The tech was surprised that Fiona was able to walk to the exam room, where we were able to visit with her. She did lay down during the visit. The wife offered to take Fiona outside to see if she would potty. They made it to the tree/grass spot where Fiona collapsed. They carried her back in. So now it is just time. I asked what caused this. The answer I was given it could be many different reasons. But the one thing going on with Fiona was the fireworks, they were really stressing her out. We cannot wait and just set them off on the 4th, it has been going on for a week now.

Tim,

I am so sorry to hear this bad news. Fiona will always reside in you and that my friend is what keeps their memory alive.

Damn. Sorry for your loss.
I know the pain, and it sucks. Time eases the pain, but it never goes away completely.

Sorry to hear your loss, Tim.

She gave you her unconditional love her entire life and you returned that love, took great care of her and was as much her friend as she was to you!

Mourn her, remember her and honor her! She will always be a part of you!

I know I'm late in offering my condolences, but I haven't been here in a few weeks.

So sorry to hear about your dog, Tim. As a dog lover and owner of 2 GSDs, I feel your pain.
