Over the Road Gang, Inc. 09' Marais River Run Car Show - Ottawa, KS. Pics

70_Fastback

Hell Bent for Speed
Some pics from the Over the Road Gang, Inc. - O9' Marais River Run Car Show in Ottawa, KS this past weekend. I spent all day saturday and sunday there. They were just a couple of cars shy of 1,600 cars. There were some guys from Riverside, CA also. Lot of long haulers for the show. It was an awesome, awesome show. Very nice cars there. Tons of mustangs too this time.

I mainly snagged pics of the stangs for the site, but there were cars as far as your eyes could see!

Mine and another nice grabber blue pro-street 70':

This was the kiddless weekend and Bonnie hard to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hence why I spent all weekend there.

I wish I could have got more pics. There were some amazing and rare cars there, but the camera shot craps on me too.

I was gonna say that there were a lot of nice coupes till you posted this nasty looking thing!
26_21_09_09_7_12_27_4.JPG

but thanks for sharing, it looks like it was a cool show! Lotta nice Stangs and other cool rides too. I like the GB Pro Street 70, a Kaase BossNine would be really cool under the hood!

Funny thing is that we have basically 95% the same engine build. I mean same intake manifold, same heads, both 347 strokers - he couldn't remember what cam lift, etc though. Just really weird the similarities.

So did you know this guy:
26_21_09_09_7_37_22_1.JPG

Or were they organizing cars based on hood scoop size?

Seriously, great looking show! Looks like some great cars! And yeah, the blue coupe with the detail paintwork doesn't do much for me, either. Kinda see what he was going for, but just...No. But hey, every car has an owner, and as long as they love it, that's enough for me.

Hey Steve, no I did not know him, but his name wa Mike and he is here local from Kansas City, MO. And no real parking organization. It was first come, first serve. He saw me and followed me around the loop road and into the grass parking area.

It was cool, if you got bored of setting, you could take your car for a little spin around the park on the paved road. It was kind of like a big cruise in too.

That's what I like about the "Goodguys" shows I've attended. They are usually in a fairground or something so you can cruise.

The paint on the ugly coupe wasn't what bothered me. The huge flares on the rear only, miss-matched wheels, goofy trunk spoiler, Corvette hood scoop... it just looked nasty to me. The stripes are kinda cool but not my thing either. I shouldn't bash other cars though, I'm sure people say bad stuff about mine too!

Very nice shots J. :wor Im curious what took you longer, posting all the pictures, or taking them? :dumas

Seriously though, What mod are you considering, the cover, or the battery switch?

Ok, that's weird. I have the undercover innovations grill mask on my '69 and it doesn't look like the the on in those pics. It's a nice unit, and doesn't have those funky creases in it. It's a lot cleaner looking than what they show. One day I need to get pics of it and post it.

I'm unsure of why you would put a battery cutoff where the guy did. It would not be legal at the track, under the hood like that, and there's other ways to do it that don't require drilling on the car if you're not trying to comply with NHRA rules.

Yeah, I realize that John. I just liked it. Never seen it before. Figured it would be convenient for winter storage, etc.

Can't explain why I liked it. Kinda like how we all tolerate Craig on here... :crazy

Think you can maybe get on that...? I've been wanting to see for a long time now John :conf
