My daily driver 2003 crown vic P71 has had an issue since i bought it, I took it to the shop to get new plugs/wires/fuel filter/ and leaky exhaust manifolds fixed because i did not have time to do it myself the shop said they replaced a coil pack. At around 50 mph when warm the engine chugs, I replaced the Speedometer sensor. Still chuggin :char I'm thinking it is the MAF sensor or the coil packs again any ideas? and how do you check coil packs? thanks in advance.

Is the check engine light on? I'd put a scan tool on it and check the live data...is it running lean? Sort of sounds to me like a fuel pressure/volume problem.

Yes the check engine light is on, I am not good w/ new cars, this is the first fuel injected car I have owned... :hide I will have to get a scanner, how do you check fuel pressure? the problem is getting annoying I wonder if the police mess w/ the fuel system before they sell them to the public, People have told me they switch the computer on the car but then again I have heard, "oh you have a cop car they have the 5.4 COBRA mustang motor" thanks for the input :thu

Some newer Fords will show the fuel pressure on the scanner...dunno about the 4.6. :shrug

I talked to a guy that had a P71 for sale; it had bald tires because he got drunk and did doughnuts because he was p!ssed that he wrecked it, but it "would still run faster than 160mph but we didn't want to push it". :say_what
