painted the calipers

i decided the paint the front calipers & brackets for my new disc brake kit. it's the mustang steve 2008 GT kit. at first, i was going to leave them natural, but after getting the mark VII calipers that had to be painted, i wanted them to match. the process is 2 coats of SPI epoxy primer, basecoat color of choice & two coats of SPI MS clearcoat. the red was some leftover paint from a motorcycle & i added just a pinch of silver flake to the clear.

Nice job, I like the way you painted the brackets black. Your calipers paint is better than my car paint job...

i can fix that for ya! :vic

Really? you have space/time after I get the car running? Only being able to put my car back together every other week really goes slow, that's why I haven't looked at body/paint yet. You have a full shop everytime I stop by, did you clear out another finished one?

Good point Rick, maybe he's doing the car down the middle for a before/after show car to showcase his many talents :craz (I've seen the cars/hot rods he's painted in person and on calendars).
By the way Rick I'll be back in FW next week if you're up for the usual...

I think you should paint both of them though...

gotta remember, this is my stuff so gotta save money where i can. i try to keep extra parts around to shoot the extra primer etc. thats left over from the payin jobs so things get done sporadically, but better suited for my budget. besides, those calipers are pretty intricate, so needed to do them one at a time so i have a reassembly guide :craz
