Password recovery Vista

There is a CD out there you can burn that has all sorts of tools to help you get out of situations like this. That CD is called "Ultimate Boot CD"
http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

On it there are "password tools" that will try to recover your password. For the record, these have never worked for me. They tend to only work with easy to crack passwords like "car" or "donkey" but not so good with "A3125dRk&#p" So your ability to recover will be based on the "crackability" of your password.

HOWEVER, another tool that's on the CD will let you change anybody's password on the system. Password Replacement instead of Recovery.

You might want to try that. Word of caution, if you have any encrypted files or folders for that user, and you change that user's password, those files are pretty much lost forever.

Let me know if you need any more help with it!

Good news finding the password.

I have a program I use at work that is a linux based boot cd. Boot from cd and it let's you delete or edit any user password on the system (not network). What works best, or most reliably, is to delete the password (blank) and the restart and set new password in windows. I'll try to find it for future use if anybody else has this problem.
