Perks of working at a car lot...

I'm all Mustang at heart, but I just HAD to test this car. :roll I couldn't help myself and drove my first Vette, ever.

That's my daughter sitting in it. She wanted a picture of her in it to show off to her friends and make them think I got her a Vette for her first car. LOL I drove it home, washed off some of the mud from the rain the other day and took it out to the meet tonight (got several folks interested in it too[nb]it's for sale.. *hint*hint*[/nb]) and took it back to the lot and put her to bed.

I admit.. if I had the $, I would so buy this car. In a heartbeat.

Very cool. I like the color. If you like that one you should drive a C5 Corvette. They have a much better ride.

I was about to buy a vette a couple years ago. Then I got the bomb dropped on me. Honey, were pregnant. Now I get to wait . I told my wife we should name our little girl Cora Evette. For some reason she said no.

86 corvette ??
A corvette is a totally other ballgame then a mustang.
Engine is behind the front axle so it handles very different ( better ) then a mustang.
But the car hobby is all about people and mustang people are more friendlier then corvette people !! :roll :roll :hide :hide

I drove my first Vette this past winter. A Z06 with 600 miles on it. It was pretty amazing!

I've driven a few Vettes before of various years. My sister used to date a guy who was a total Vette junkie.

They drive nice but I've never had any interest in owning one to be honest. For starters the parts for those cars are sky high price wise and they are a biyotch to work on generally speaking. It doesn't matter since I need a backseat till the boys get older anyway so a Vette has never been a consideration or option for me.

Like the color of that one though.

I have owned a 75 vette for a year or two and I only can say that the resto parts are of poor quality and are expensive.
I have driven the vette on highways and never got a thumbs up like I get when I am on the road with the fastback.
People do like mustangs more then corvette's overhere.

I own a 95 C4 Vette convertable..have it about 5 years..fun car to drive, but like the other posters said..very pricey to repair. :steer

I've driven a couple different newer vets including a ZR1 and have to say I'm not a big fan. Loved the acceleration of the ZR1 but found the cockpit uncomfortable. To me at least, I found the seat too low and the shifter position very awkward. Reaching up to shift was, in a word, weird. I will say though, stable as hell at really stupid speed.

If I were to get a vet it would be a '61. I really like the four eyed vets. Grew up watching re-runs of Route 66 and just loved the car.

There is a local guy who loves kweervettes, He has been doing body work on the same 78 stingray for a year or two now and it's not close to being done, It has a 400sbc and i pulled away in the 1/4 mile with my daily driver -04 P71 crown vic, he still runs his mouth-"Corvettes were not built for the 1/4 Its a WORLD CLASS SUPERCAR"I will at least admit when i lose, and compliment the other car..., seems when people get a vette they think their shyt don't stink...

Isn't that in the owners manual when you buy one.

I agree, you get more looks in a classic mustang than you do in a vette. When I drove it, no rubber neckers.. When I drove Gertrude... I got lots of rubber neckers checking her out.

kweervette LOL

I've driven a total of two Vette's in my life, though I worked at a shop when I was a teenager that restored them and built street rods (we did more street rods than 'vettes). Those two where the business owner's '64 and a friend's '71 LS5 454 car. The '71 was a handful and I personally didn't care looking out over those high fender peaks. I drove the '64 on a road trip for the owner a little over 100miles and it road like a buckboard. It ranks near the top of the list of most uncomfortable cars I've ever driven! I gotta admit I like the looks of a '58 though! :roll
