We have had a record warm spring here in Illinois and I worked up my small garden spot(still pretty early for a normal year), I love fresh salsa so I put out 11 tomato plants, 6 bell pepper, and 1 japanese egg plant--I don't plant hot peppers anymore because I only need a few and just grab some at a farmers market--same with onions---when I was a kid we had a huge garden(near 1/2 acre), Mom canned and froze a large portion of what we didn't eat fresh.
