Possible?

Last night I pulled the rear wheel and rotor to look at the axle seal that was leaking. First, let me say everything was new, new rear, new axle, etc. The car has sat during the build for a number of years and had never been run. While it was up on the rack at the shop I noticed the DS rear axle seal was leaking. Not bad, but leaking. Drove the car home and around town, maybe 85 miles on it. Last night I could not see or find a leak. I cleaned up the rim and will see if it comes back, but is it possible that once the car got some miles/heat things tightened up and sealed better?

it's possible, sitting things get dry/brittle. Maybe putting some heat and splashing a little lube was what it needed.

Seems as if it did. Cleaned it up on Thursday and still no leak!!! Just got home from a bust of a car show. Broke the speedo cable on the way home. Found an O'riely's that has one in stock so I'm gonna venture over there and pick it up so I can swap it in the AM.
