Power Rack and Pinion, use stock PS pump?

for those of you that converted to power rack & pinion, are you still using the stock power steering pump? I am looking at the TCP unit, but their pump adds another 700-800 to an already steep price tag. I'm wondering if it would work OK if I retained the stock pump.

Thanks for any advice. R&P wasn't originally on my list of parts but I think as long as I am replacing all the front suspension I should do this upgrade as well.

I have a unisteer power rack, it came with a late model pump, i kept getting a low RPM whine with it so i upgraded to a KRC pump i got from Shaun. Same pump TCP uses, considerably cheaper from Street or Track.

a followup question, but I suspect no one has the answer yet. Looking down the road at the completed car, i am wondering if the KRC pump will work with a March serpentine belt system. I know the pump can be had with a serpentine pulley, but the march brackets are designed to hold the stock pump. I'm wondering if I have to choose between one or the other.

I'm pretty sure it's not an impossible problem to solve as I could cut my own bracket from 1/2" aluminum if I HAVE to.
