Power Steering Option

I've been toying with the idea of adding power steering to my car lately, and previously I planned to save up for a full power rack & pinion system. However, I'm investigating a different route...

... by just replacing the steering box with a Borgeson PS steering box, adding a PS pump/hoses and belt, I can convert my manual steering to power steering. The advantages are: 1) it would keep the "tuned" geometry of my front suspension unmolested by the addition of a rack & pinion setup; or 2) no problems with old leak-pron technology in a rebuilt original system. I need to do some more research, but this sure sounds like an interesting option... plus it would be a lot cheaper than purchasing a full power rack & pinion system.

Check out this self contained power steering box from Borgeson.

I noticed that, but since my car is already modified, I'm not too concerned about making that change.

Has anyone here on "The Fix" done this mod?... or know someone who has installed a Borges steering box?

What kind of clutch are you running? I am not surprised that it doesn't work with the z-bar stock clutch as I had mine reinforced by OpenTracker and had to grind away at the gusset as clearance was very tight!

I have a hydraulic clutch with a hydraulic throw out bearing.
