Power steering

On a 66 coupe with a 302. Whet would be the best way to get better handling. Dad says rack and pinion, my buddy says electric power steering and other say other. No one says stay manual. Just wondering what y'all have done or tried and didn't like.

I've got the TCP power rack in my fastback. It works good. It's not the cheapest option...ok probably one of the priciest. The only thing I would do different, is that the kit comes with a remote reservoir, I'd get the reservoir that bolts onto the KRC pump. I still may do that...just getting around to doing it.

I have manual steering in both Mustangs and would never go with PS, but will say that because I'm running 225's on the front of the 68, it is tough to park with, whereas with the 65 which is running 205's on the front, it feels like PS.

What size tires are you running? Is the car in running condition? Be sure to grease up the steering box.

In good running condition with 205 55 16 on the front. I'll have to look and see how to grease the box. I bought it with 06 gt wheels on it that had to have spacers and thought that might be part of it. I've got a set of mags from coy's wheels coming for looks and maybe better steering.

I have a 429 iron head big block in my 67 and it weighs as much as the Titanic. The car was PS car so it has the 16:1 steering gearbox. Its manual conversion now. You need both hands and help from the passenger to parallel park but on the road it feels great.
