Productive weekend

This weekend I managed to replace the front inner frame rail, the battery apron and shock tower...well mostly. Ran out of welding gas before I was able to get all of the welding done.

Why can't I be this productive every time I work on the Mustang?

Nice work. I often think of the same question of why I can not get more done. Usually it is motivation.

did you have to weld the nut on the inner frame rail for the crossmember or was it already there?
When I replaced my frame rails and they didn't have them.

Nice work. Did you keep the original rear inner fender?

I did but I will have to patch a section of the top where it overlaps the shock tower. Both the shock tower and the rear apron were rusted out in that location.

I got a Grade 8 nut and welded it in. I also managed to get the old frame rail out in pretty much one piece so I used it as a template for measurements. I ended up filling in almost all of the holes and drilling new ones because they were off quite a bit. I also had to extend the frame rail back about 1/2 inch so that it would meet up with the toe board.
