Ranger Part Numbers?

Is there a way to find out the Ford part number for a 1993 Ranger LH rear parking brake cable? This is becoming a nightmare. I'm about to just start carrying a wheel chock around.

It's no longer available from Ford. I can't find the whole part number there, either. It just gives me part of it, which is not enough to distinguish left from right. I've found what I think is the correct part on eBay, but want to be sure before dropping $50+ on it.

I believe I need part F37Z2A635D.

fordparts.com has a diagram that labels both left and right cables simply as "A635". Barely helpful.

There's two different numbers depending on the size of the brakes. For 9" brakes it's F37Z2A635B , for 10" brakes it's F37Z2A635D

Glad to help Mike. BTW, ironically enough I changed my avatar BEFORE I saw your original post (and only changed it to be sarcastic...I'm FAR from knowing it all)!! LOL

I never found an OEM Ford part for the RH side and let me tell you.... the part I bought from Autozone is not as nice as the LH Ford part. I paid more than twice as much for the LH side, but I sure do feel a lot better about it.

It's a shame you couldn't find an OEM cable. A number of years back Ford started downsizing the entire replacement parts inventory and obsoleted a TON of parts. They no longer carry parts for as many older years as they used to. I have a good friend that works in parts at one of local Ford dealerships (it's the ONLY place he's ever worked, starting as a delivery boy back in the 70's while still in H.S.!!). I was looking for something several years back and he advised me of the draw down. The good thing for me is, if it's out there somewhere and still in the system he'll find it for me!

Glad you were able to get it fixed!
