Rear Axel Tube Leak

I was doing my 500 mile check after the restoration and I found a oil leak at the rear axle tube vent.

Is there a gasket that was suppose to go there or is there something I should use to stop this leak before it makes a mess over everything.

Thanks

I thought there were different holes for the axle vent metal tube and the bolt that holds the rear brake line distribution. I think that's why you're getting a leak with the mount under the tube nipple. I've switched to a 9" but believe my 8" was the same? I can take a pic when I get home tonight if no one else gives a fix. There was no gasket, etc. on my tube vent nipple.

edit: I *think* this was my 8" and the vent nipple was just out of pic to the left:

When I got my 9" it had two holes which neither were in their correct spots for my application, so I simply welded both shut and made a new one to take care of both the brake line bracket as well as the vent tube. I don't remember if I used a gasket or not but it would be pretty easy to make one. I question if your vent tube is blocked from breathing.

Here's some pics:

Remove the vent & put some pipe thread sealer on the threads, Teflon or the like. I am assuming the hose clamp is not leaking. A copper washer or two might resolve it as well

I don't have a gasket on mine. You sure it's not over full? I would think it would be hard to fling enough gear lube up there to leak...
when I had my front end aligned I was looking under the car while it was on the rack and noticed my hose had come off and there was no lube coming out even with the hose off.
