Is there anything special about the front leaf spring bolt? Will one from the local hardware store work okay? If so what grade?

TIA

I found the closest grade 8 bolt and then cut it to the correct length. Do you need a grade 8, probably not.

I was under my car this weekend for the first time in a LONG time, grinding, sanding and priming...and took a few minutes to look at my springs in anticipation of removing them soon, and noticed that one of the bolts holding it in is a carriage bolt. Now I DO know they make higher grade carriage bolts...but they don't sell them at Home Depot...I am betting that this is truly a cheap POS carriage bolt that the PO just tossed in there. After the bondo I removed from the floor pans, nothing would surprise me.
