Rearview Mirror windshield glue

This question isn't for my 67 Mustang; it's for my 71 F100.

I installed a new windshield in my truck, but now I need to glue the rearview mirror mounting base.

What kind of glue should I used to glue the metal mirror base to the glass windshield?

Any auto parts store should have it or stop by a windshield place and they may give you some from free. It is marked for rear view mirrors on the shelf.

On my old off brand pickup, the mirror came off. i went to the local autoparts store and bought a small tube of rearview mirror adhesive. It never fell off as I owned it.
