I and a few others here never really wanted to believe the doping rumors but I just read where he admitted it---I am never going to believe anyone about performance enhancing drugs again---I am done.

I was one who supported Armstrong in our discussions here. Having seen and read countless shows and articles about him and his physical abilities it was not hard to believe him to be an athletic freak and not a cheater. I still think that when the facts come out what he was doing as cheating will be pretty high-tech (blood transfusions, etc.) that in his own mind he had probably convinced himself (at least until now) wasn't really "doping".

It's sad in so many ways. Don't dismiss the real reason he is making this admission either. He hopes to have his lifetime ban lifted so he can compete in other forms of competition. Running, etc. Cheater or not, he is still one hell of an athlete. Remember, all those other guys he rode with and competed against were cheating too. And he beat them all. All the time. All that said, he's a disgrace for what he did.

I don't know why people can't just rely on natural ability / hard work and have to resort to doping.

I'd love to see baseball back in the Olympics. However, they stopped having it as a sport at the games because doping was so pervasive in the MLB for a number of years.

Sad really, I know a guy (a friend of mine and one of the boys' coaches) who was on Team USA as a catcher years ago. A few bad apples ruined it for everyone.

A guy I used to work with said,And I agree with him,"If they got rid of all the performance enhancing drugs out of all sports,We wouldn't have anything to bitch about!".

So Armstrong pissed off the french. Big deal. Wanna bet the french riders were rocking some sort of enhancement drug too.....

IMHO
in every sport where money plays a huge roll , perfomance enhancing drugs are not far away.No exception , be it cycling , atletics , ect !!!
just my humble opinion.
