Replacing Clutch Release Arm Spring Clip

stump

Member
One more little project is to replace the Release Arm spring.

How is this done? Can it be replaced without taking the clutch apart?

Any tips or tricks??

Thanks.

Trying to visualize what clip you are referring to. I think I need another glass of wine.

Are you talking about the clutch fork anti-rattle spring?

You just need to remove the bellhousing to replace that. It was a little difficult for me the first time, but the second time was a piece of cake. You'll need to lever it off and on.

That's the one.

So, if the bellhousing has to come off, then the transmission has to come out... I was hoping this could be changed through the opening for the release arm. I may just let them take care of this at the same time as the steering box...

Thanks!

Oh THAT clip. Yes, I would do whatever I could to attempt in removing it without dropping the tranny/bellhousing. But then again, I've always do things the hard way.

Depends on how much clearence you have.
You can pull the lever out of the bellhousing hole and install it.
Biggest problem is getting the lever out far enough to get at it with headers on.
