Roller perches... combination of parts/mods?

Read AzPete's post about the roller perches and I have a follow-up question. My '65 K fastback has had the 1" shelby drop and has under-ride traction bars on the back. These things were done to the car a long time ago by a previous owner. Considering the car is a K code, I don't want to get too crazy on mods, but I do plan to take it to a road course now and then. The question I have is, would installing just roller perches be beneficial enough without installing roller control arms? Other upgrades on the chassis/suspension are simple bolt-on stuff: Export brace, MC bar, new set of Koni's and 1" sway bar.

The car is going to the paint shop, so just collecting parts for now.

Yes.......Yes......and for sure, yes.

I only have the roller perches with the non-roller street uppers and lowers....big, nice difference.

Did I mention you should install them if you do anything more than roll it in and out of a trailer.

Seeing as I have not owned a trailer since 1999, I guess I have no choice but to install them! :vic

I don't want to get too crazy on mods.....

I can't believe that I just read this..... Charles Turner, the master concours restoration guru is going to "modify" something? Are you allowed to? Didn't you take some kind of oath of office or something?

Hehe, well, I can't stomach paying out of pocket for another concours restoration. I prefer to do that kind of work for other folks. Honestly though, what use would a blue/blue '65 K fastback be rolling it on and off a trailer and never driving it?? Ever since I've been going to driving schools with the M5, just have a different take on things. I still like doing concours restorations though, just added another interest area!

The great thing about the roller perches..... aside from the benefits of a "free-er" traveling front suspension..... is that it's a pure bolt-on modification. No holes to drill in the body, etc., thus keeping the integrity of a K-code car intact.

Now, do we need to also point you in the right direction to purchase them or can you find that on your own......
Hint...look at the bottom of the page......something blue....

Yep, I know exactly where to get them. Wouldn't even consider anyone else.

Cool....another one comes in from the cold :)

jk with you Charles.

My car is a mutt so I have no problems making mods to it. It still has a Mustang heart.

Charles, I'd consider a roller idler arm as well. Another bolt on item. Chat with John for details.

....and no, we won't tell anyone on ConcoursMustangForum that you are starting to come over to the dark side.

We have a special forum member discount going on the perches, $175 including shipping to all 50 states.

Send us an email for the discount opentracker@sbcglobal.net

FYI - they do pass tech at the race tracks so they are vintage legal :craz

Well, if'n you're gonna be doing some track'n....might as well pony up to the dbl rollers!!

Totally agree with Craig.

The roller perches are a must. Everything is bonus on top of it. I ran just the roller perches on an otherwise stock supspension (except for springs, KYB shocks, 1" sway bar, and the normal Monte-Carlo bar and Export brace). I noticed a huge difference with just the roller perches.

Later, I added ORP roller upper arms, roller idler arm, vario-centric camber kit and Street-or-Track strut rods. This is all on my '66. It now rides better than any car at our house. Even Tracey commented on how smooth the car rides.
