Man, I hate getting older. Do NOT look forward to more stuff like this down the road.

They played the soundtrack to most of my life so far. My kids find it hilarious (and sad) that I am stuck in a Ground Hog Day type of existence when it comes to music. I think it's only because their current options are so lacking they have no idea what it is like to have grown up with such incredible bands as me.

it is a sad day in the music world! I may have to just cruise around all day cranking some of my favorites from them. Interesting enough, my son and his friends listen to all of my old music. OK they were forced to when they were younger, but now that they are on their own they still listen to AC/DC and the rest of the 80's music I grew up to.

My oldest boy likes a lot of my rock too. Same reason...he couldn't not grow up listening to it. He still thinks I need to expand my taste beyond the hair bands though.

It's been going on for generations, the older we get the crappier the modern "music" gets. I can't stand to listen to anything put out in the last 10 yrs or so. It's all canned, made up, fake american idol type of garbage or it's nothing but screeching guitars and screaming.

What happened to "real" music? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSR6ZzjDZ94

Too bad. I remember they day my older brother played the Let There Be Rock album for me. Freakin' amazing guitars and energy. I still play they CD from time to time.

Message posted from AC/DC yesterday:
"After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health. Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support.

In light of this news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family’s privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music. "
