Say... WHAT?!?!?

A big chunk of that figure is in the benefits piece. It would be interesting to see the value of that lone part and then compare it to the average value of the same in other common occupations/workforces.

Holy crap. Maybe I need to go work for Ford. :confu
I'm guessing that there is some $30k or more tied into that benefit piece. I seem to recall figures in the neighborhood of $60-70k for a UAW line worker.

That makes more sense.

Even if 60-70K is more in line, I don't think I'd be thinking about striking given the number or unemployed people out there. Particularly in Michigan.

You may be giving them too much credit. After decades on the job in a position like this a lot of people tend to lose perspective.

I think they should make what the market will bare. If the management turned the company around and is making big profits,
they should bank a giant chunk of that and then spread the leftover around.
