any thoughts on what you've driven and liked?

I went today and drove Audi A5 and a 2016 mustang. Audi was quick but the mustang threw you in the seat. The performance package is sick. The phrase that it's fast enough is spot on. Handling was better than expected.

Going to check out an S5, jeep rubicon and maybe a camaro.

A camaro? Have you been drinking? Drive one. One perk I have with all the traveling I do is I get to drive all kinds of rentals. I tested one. I found it uncomfortable and really a pain in the ass to drive. Visibility is very poor. Gauges are horribly located and the whole dash is weird. I currently am driving a rental Jeep Compass. It is crap. And I OWN a Cherokee (wife's car) and like it. I can't believe the quality difference in the two same brand vehicles. If the Rubicon is anything like this junk I am driving this week...forget it. I prefer the prior model stang for a number of reasons but rented a new one last week down in Florida. A six cylinder. Drove great. I pushed it on a couple tollways with some pretty nice sweeping curves and such and it was a lot of fun. Stuck like glue. Cabin was pretty cool as well. Not as negative on them as I had been prior to spending a few days with one. If you go this way though have to get the 5.0. It's a sweet engine.

I drove a new 5.0 last year while I was at the dealer getting the oil changed in the Escape. Actually thought about selling the 66 after that test drive! It was very fast, the brakes are awesome and it was quite comfortable. I came to my senses a couple hours later though. But...if I was in the market for a new cruiser, it would be a new GT Mustang! It would just need the track package.

While the 16 I drive was a gt, it did not have the performance package you're talking about. I was shocked how well balanced it was. Overall performance was better than expected. My buddy has a triple black with performance with hardly any other bells and whistles on it. It was so much better. Completely agree with you. Unfortunately they are Very hard to find with it minus the navigation crap. He got his for 40k out the door. I've been looking for a month.

You can still order a 16 the way you want it. Build it online and take it to a dealer!
