Out of the car, have about a 1" gap between the engine and trans. It won't budge any further. Tried a whole lot of ways to lever, lift, twist, pull, push and they just will not come apart...

Whats the trick?

Did you unbolt the torque converter?

As the flexplate and converter are still bolted up I'm guessing that's it...

Was in the shop and finished up what other stuff I could do on the shell and saw them sitting there and figured I'd give it a go. Learn by breaking! ;-)

As I just bought a dual quad setup, need to drop the block and it in the car to check hood clearences during upcoming bodywork/fit, and don't need the C6 hanging off the back making that any more difficult. And also (assuming it fits) see if it may be possible to still use the ram air plenum (68 shelby hood). If the duals don't work, got a 428PI intake and a Holley go on for test fit...

A quick look on the web and found a few videos, never done this before only toploaders, and it look like that will resolve it... can't get there until Thurs or Fri... will update then.

Thanks for the help...
