Shag's build book

I got this idea from my Ferrari neighbors who wanted to document a recent engine build for one of their customers. I've always wanted to do this but until this came to my attention, I didn't know where to start. So for those of you who have done a complete restoration or even a partial thereof and want to show it in a bound book try this. Our local CVS drug store has a neat Kodak Kiosk machine which you simply load a disc full of pictures you want to use. You can select single sided or double side print, etc. Drag your photo from page to page.

Hell......if I can you it, so can you.

Check it out. Yes much nicer looking in person. Made 3 copies but my son already HiJacked one copy. Bringing a copy to a Mustang Christmas dinner this weekend.

Nicely done!

A friend of mine works for HP and he told me about this newer project of HP's that allows anyone to basically create their own magazine and have it professionally printed at a low cost.

I thought this could have some pretty cool potential for documenting a car restoration.

That is a great looking book! I think I will have to steal that idea for my son's fastback build.

Those with Apple Macs can do it on their computers via Iphoto and then Apple can print it in hard bound or soft bound for you. Fairly reasonable prices too.

that's a really cool idea. I have made a "owner's manual" for my car. My doctor said I had a great memory, it is just short (just my memory you pervs) so I needed to document all the stuff before I forgot. I did it in Power Point, I'll have to make it nice enough to print like that.

Now just figure out how to remember where you put it so you would not lose it......lost more things like that....

Oh I like the book!! I might have to do that for Gertrude. Right now her page would be 1 page long. No point. LOL

Very Nice Craig, So when do you add the words? or is it going to be book on tape? Even better yet build in a push button to play videos and or sound bites from exhaust etc, if you going to do this do it all the way............................

That's a nice looking book, Craig. I think it just needs an original illustration to finish it off...... :roll

As always !!!

When he does something ..... He does it always very good and with passion !!

Well done Craig !! I should have done it also ....before my computer crashed !! A lot off pics lost .

Awesome book Craig. I'm doing this too. Thanks for the idea.

Ok, yes, yet another idea of yours I'm taking. Although I'm sure some of the things I did were my own ideas that just happened to be similar to yours.

That's sweet Craig. I like it. :thu

My wife likes to make books on Blurb.com. She was going to do one for my car but there are not enough pictures to fill a whole book, since I did not do a ground up build. :shrug

I'm sure Craig would make you a copy.........

I'd be more than happy to do so. What I did was to collect what pics I wanted and then put them on a flash card in the correct sequence. I then renamed each pic 1 through 42 (or whatever the total number of pics is). Doing this allowed me to quickly make sure the pics remain in the right sequence for I noticed that as soon as I dumped them into the kodak kiosk, they did not remain in order.

I could have done a lot more pages and pics but for my first attempt thought 12 pages was enough.
