She finnally runs!

Thanks to a new Points and Condenser, and much praying to the Mustang Gods. She runs again. my 1973 Mach 1 is on the road to recovery. With a minor imperfection with a oil line going to the oil gauge, spitting my oil out into the cab. (Good thing I had all the interior out). But the good news is. She starts right up with points in it. So for now. They will do. :)

That sounds good after all the problems you had getting to this point.

That's why I'm not cussing the oil leak in the cab. lol. Im just happy to be at this point. Now really it doesn't seem all the far fetched of having it drivable before too long. lol

Congratulations. Triple check that fitting when you get it corrected. On first install my compression fitting pinched the line and wouldn't give an accurate pressure reading. Needless worries right there. Have fun.

I thought you were running electronic ignition? Nonetheless, congrats in bringing the Cleveland to life.

+1

Didn't you just get a new Mallory set-up? Or were you going to go that route?

Are you saying new points and a condenser in your original distributor fixed your issues? Just curious.

Either way, congrats on getting it going :yah!

I had put the new Ignition Module in the mallory distributor i bought the car with. And it still didnt run. So I got a friend to drop a stock dizzy in it and he hot wired it straight to the battery. And I guess it fried the points and condensor (or one or the other) and I changed the Points and condensor, checked and double checked the gap, put a new resistor in, and she fired right up. And thanks for the congrats all! FIXED THE LEAK BTW! :)

P.S. Also filled the oil back up considering it was all in my floor board. (Good thing I took all the interior out to check for rust and prep for rewiring). ALSO on a much better note, a chick ive been with on and off for the past couple years was helping me, and she actually admitted she enjoys working on the car. SCORE! ha. Let's see how long that lasts though. Good news, she actually got her hands dirty, from working on the car. Of course.

Good luck on that one. Notice I mentioned on and off. Today she hardly seemed interested in me lol. I guess it should be kinda expected though. She's only 17 with alot of shit going on at home, and she lives a couple hours away, but shes down for the week. Idk if she's bipolar or just doesn't know what she wants. She's usually nice though, so im guessing on the second one. lol. Oh well, college is in a couple weeks, there will be more girls. And if this one comes around then cool, if not, she's still a great friend.

Nothin' better than a girl who comes and goes at your age. Its' when they won't go away you have problems.

Just kinda sucks when it's one you want to stick around for a while. She was my first kiss, first gf, and a couple other firsts. And she's my best friend. But, nothing's perfect. ha.

Hang in there. I didn't meet my wife until I was 30 and I wouldn't change a thing.....well maybe a couple of things.
