Well it happened--I officially turn in my man card, I got the urge to trade trucks the other day and I kind of wanted to get back in a full size pickup, I had them figure a new 11 f150 xlt super cab 4wd, (they had 3 to pick from all $36,125.00
When I left they had offered me what I thought was a pretty good price, I would have been able to move from my 2007 nissan frontier to a 11 f150 with an increase in payment from 322 a month to 348 a month. I shopped it at a chevy dealer pricing a silverado apples to apples priced truck--they had a payment of 452 a month--over $3000. less for my trade in--the other ford dealer said they could not beat or come close to the original dealers price---the chevy dealership owner talked to me before I left and said they would do some checking and get back with me--he said they could match most any deal, they called yesterday and thanked me for giving them a shot, they could not match it---now the only problem I have is the wife doesn't want to buy A new vehicle right now cause there have been layoffs at her job in the last year--my comeback to that was if she loses her job we probably would have to move down on vehicles we drive anyway--I think her job is pretty secure--she is pretty snug with money. We don't live check to check and I could pull the money out of savings to buy it outright (big drain on our savings)
she makes over twice what I do so I guess I just continue to kiss her s$$. I have not completely given up hope but it is dwindling---I don't need a new truck bad enough to let this cause a battle at home---just wanted to whine a little---I am going to give it one more shot this aft.!!! :shrug
