should I consider this or scam?

I listed some heads off a '72 Olds 350403 on the local craigslist yesterday.

Got a phone call from a guy out of Chicago who wants to buy them and is ok with paying to ship them..

If he paypals me the money before shipping any chance this is just a scam?

the ways are trending lately with craigslist, if i dont know someone or cant meet face to face, i tell them i dont have paypal & request a cashiers check/postal money order. if they cant wait the extra couple days, they dont really want the parts that bad...

Dunno if it can still be done, but Paypal could be a con artists friend awhile back. They would pay via Paypal, receive the goods then file a dispute through Paypal. Paypal would then freeze the funds in your account. The way it would end up, Paypal would side with the buyer and refund their money from your account. End result, they got your stuff AND their money back. IMHO, I'd err on the side of caution and take a money order, cashiers check or cash only!

Research what evidence you need to prove you shipped the goods. And follow through. Better safe than sorry.

in my experience, evidence doesn't matter. i had an incident on ebay a couple yrs ago where a claim was filed that the item was never received. i provided fedex shipping receipts plus the form that showed the package was delivered & signed for with an electronic copy of the signature. they still pulled the money from my account...

I would be hot! I almost got scammed as a buyer last year for some doors. I feel thankful the seller didn't try to fight for their cause.

Boys were busy playing in a ball tournament this weekend so I haven't had a chance to get over to the shipping place and figure out how much it would cost to ship a set of heads.

My guess is the shipping will be a lot...not sure what the heads weigh each but has to be +/- 50 lbs each.

I am not so excited about going through the bs to pack them up and ship them.

What I may do is tell the guy FedEx me actual cash or no deal.

Money orders can be just as big a scam as some of the other paypal type scams you read about.

Not getting any other calls about them as yet but think I'd rather sell them for scrap metal or take them to a swap meet and trade for something I need, etc.
