Should I , which and where

B67FSTB

The NorCal dude from Belgium
1) SHOULD I buy a kind of trac lock for my 8 inch differential because I have to convert it from a 2.80 to a 3.55 due to the T5Z i did have install.
The car is more a weekend warrior in lesser sence.
2) WHICH kind of trac lock is suitable for me or which wil give amore value to the car.
3) WHERE should i buy this ( ring and pinion and eventually the trac lock unit )
Come on guys , the dollar/euro exchange rate is in my advantage and the wallet is itching on my butt.
So answer with SHOULD I / WHICH / WHERE
THX.

Not sure which one but for sure get a trac lok with the 3:55 gears. It will be much more fun to drive....even if only on weekends.

My vote is for a tru-trac locker. Nothing to wear out, just gears. It's worked GREAT in my 66 (although it's a 9"). Plus if you ever track the car, you'll be very happy with the locker!

For new parts: http://www.ringpinion.com/

Like Mark said, tru-trac would be the way to go (no clutches to wear) It's available on that link I posted for an additional charge ($200). Might get expensive with shipping and what ever customs gouges you for!

I have the stock in the 67 and the 8" in the 65. when I bought the 8" Trak-Lok I was told it all depends how much horsepower you are going to put out there as to a 9" or 8". I chose 8" because I was not planning the horsepower needed.

Now SWMBO wants Trak-Lok in her 67, so I see the light and feel the wheels turning and may talk her into a 9" for my car and stick my 8" in hers. she will never get the horsepower, period. I just might someday when I get the rest of the car done, put some serious HP in front of my TKO 600, requiring the 9".

If this happens I will go with the same gears I have now 3:55 and a true locker. This car could see track time.

SWMBO may see some track time in an autocross in Vegas, but the stock diff will be fine, I hope!

Thx guys.
i am heading to the tru trac set up.Saw on you tube a demo by Eaton.
Now I have to decide if I buy the whole chunk or the pieces alone( ring and pinion plus tru trac plus bearings and seals and do the job myself )
I am looking at $1500 before it is at my doorstep.( 1050

I did the chunk. It was more money, but building diffs is not my best skill.

I left my old one in a house I rented and I would bet it is still there. I'll have to go check.

Put the stang on the 4 pole lift and blocked it up.
Pulled the axles and removed the 3rd member.
Cleaned up and sprayed the chunk with a kind of red oxide primer and a layer of varnish. :yah
If I only had though about the copper washers , it was finished. Now I have to searche for them .Damm. :rant
Pics to prove of course.

Finally got the copper washers to secure, together with the nuts , the 3rd member.
note : here in belgium they don't used the orignal part number E0AZ-2149-B.
They have to convert it to a " Ford European Number , which is then : 3 520 682 .

And when I got the package of washer , the label says ; ONE PACKAGE OF 7 PCS E0AZ-1249-B GASKET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wtf

14 pcs = 11

You don't really need the copper washers...

Well, not if you don't care about disrupting the space/time continuum!
