Silicon vs copper radiator hose.

First let me say this is going to be a custom job either way. I have a 6cyl. 200 and a Griffin radiator.

My first idea was to sweat some copper together and make a custom lower hose then having it chromed. This would have rubber or silicon ends on either side clamped on. The upper hose would be a simple 90 degree copper piece chromed with rubber on either side. I think it would look good plus very custom but would cost some $$ for the chroming.

My second idea is just to use blue silicon hose and try to find something that would work. Upper hose would be simple but the lower might be a problem.

Which would conduct the heat better? Copper or silicon?

You cann't really see the top hose with this pic but this is what I am working with.

That is a pretty clean looking 6 cyl. I can't answer your question about copper or silicon conducting heat. I can say that I love to do mods like you are talking about with the radiator hose. I say go with the copper and make it unique. That sounds like it would look really nice. Keep us posted on what you decide to do.
