single or dual points

how do i know if i have single or dual points? i have a stock distributor i want to put one of those pertronix ignitions in my car. anyone ever use one any success?

Remove the cap and see if you have one set of points or two....two equals dual point.....

I fitted a pertronix-1 when I first purchased my Pony,I needed the extra performance and reliability to outrun the local Kangaroos living in the nature reserve just up the road.

Dual point dist have the cond mounted on the outside, as the extra point set takes its place on the inside of the cap.

Here's a picture (from the 428CJ website) of a dual point dist. for a 70 428 CJ w/ manual trans (note there are two sets of points and the condensor mounts internally):
