Smartphones..... Help me decide

I'm looking to make the move from my old flip phone to a new smartphone. My girlfriend and I are both getting new phones and we are sticking with Verizon for our provider. She is an Ipod freak so the Iphone is a no brainer for her. I've been looking into the HTC Thunderbolt, Droid X or waiting for the Droid Bionic or X2. I've been doing a bunch of research and cant decide. I'm usually loyal to motorola but the size of the HTC is nice. Guess I need to wait for the Bionic to come out before deciding....

What are you guys and girls using and what are your thoughts on them?

I have an HTC and I like it. No problems.
I never wanted to give up my old flip phone, but now that I have a smartphone I am glad I did.
Of course now I am totally addicted to this place thanks to tapatalk.

My phone is the HTC MyTouch Slide. I really like it, and I like having the slide out keyboard. I have had no problems with it and the battery life is very good when I remember to turn off the 3G access when I don't need to be on line.

My son has a Motorola Droid 2 and hates it. He can't turn off the network access and the music player is buggy.

My old phone was the HTC Incredible and it's an awesome phone. It's even better if it's rooted. There's so much more that you can do with 'em. I jumped on the bandwagon when the iphone hit verizon. If you like to customize your phone, the iphone it alot more limited in that area, unless you jailbreak (root) it. Then it's better, but not perfect.

I've had Verizon for years AND have also been a Motorola fan. I had my last Motorola phone so long that when I started having problems with it I took it in. The Verizon folks said the problems were due to the software was out of date. The reason for that? It was so old, there WERE no updates for it any longer!

The wife "surprised" me year before last and bought me a Blackberry Storm when they came out. What a piece of JUNK!! When Verizon announced they were getting IPhones I couldn't wait to replace it. When I found out their IPhone was not the full function one I had to ask myself the same thing, IPhone, Droid or HTC? A friend already had a Droid X, but having been burned by the Storm's crappy touch pad, I was looking at a Droid with slider keypad. After playing around with the Droid X I settled on it. It's been great! I'm still learning all of it's features, but there's tons of apps and it's really easy to use. The only thing I don't care for is the physical size. I can live with it though! Glad I'm back with a Motorola!!

On my birthday this month, I'm walking down to our local Verizon store and pick up Ipone 4. If I don't GTSCODE will not speak to me

I have the HTC thunderbolt and its awesome. The battery life can be a little quick to drain, but the speed is ridiculous compared to my wifes Samsung Fascinate or Iphone 4 (She has them both because ones a company phone)

I have the Motorola Droid and love it.

Wife too.

I wish I would have purchased the X since the screen is larger and I don't use the slide keyboard.

I got my smartphone the from verizon the same day the I phone came out. I ended up getting the Droid X bases on input from other stangfixers. I almost went for the Droid 2 because I thought I needed the keyboard, but the screen size of the Droid X is so much better, and the touch screen is nice too, I don't miss the slider keyboard at all... very happy with the droid X.

I upgraded both mine and Deb's phones awhile back with the Droid X. Best damn phone I've ever had. The only thing it won't do is inflate my tires!

I ditched Sprint and moved to AT&T and an iPhone 4, best phone I've owned. I had a samsung moment droid prior to that, HATED it....glad I switched

I recently dropped Verizon and went with Straight Talk through Wally World. Got more time, text, etc. and saved a few bucks (almost half). Bought a phone for the plan that is evidently NOS from Samsung but makes calls like a mofo. Would this be considered "smart"?

In all honesty, I liked my blackberry and I liked my iPhone.

As of two weeks ago, I love my iPhone. Everything about it has made finding a job and a place to live so much easier. From speaking on the phone with HR and emailing requested documents instantly from my previous employer to my new employer, speaking with property managers while at the same time looking at their floor plans and texting my wife about them, even video conferencing with my son when I'm in the SF Bay Area or my wife while in LA interviewing. My iPhone 4 through AT&T has made a very stressful difficult month a little easier for my family and I.

Well I recently got the HTC Droid incredible. I love it. It's some much better than an iPhone for me personally. Just when you are ready to buy a phone. Buy the phone at www.wireless.amazon.com. Its cheaper and you get it in 2 working days. The only commitment is that you keep the phone 6 months I think.

I was waiting for the thunderbolt but I got anxious and bought the incredible.

Just fired AT&T on good Friday and switched to Verizon. It's nice to be able to get reception in my whole office. Before the switch if I had to go down towards the conference room that whole end of my office was a dead zone. That was a real problem if I had to be in a meeting for a couple of hours because if there were an emergency at the boys' school I couldn't be reached via cell phone.

I got a Droid and it is really good. The camera on this thing is amazing and it's nice to finally have a phone that will handle my e-mail. The browser on the phone is really good. Especially if I am at home with my wireless network or any wi-fi hot spot.

I've heard a lot of not so good things about the Iphones so I stayed away from those.

Thanks for all the input. I spent hours reading reviews on CNET.. I'm thinking of waiting for the Droid Bionic since it will be similar to the X but with higher res screen. If they keep delaying the release, I may go for the X. I really like the Thunderbolt but the battery life has me worried.

The thunderbolt is a great phone, and there is an extended battery available for it. Just in case you didn't already know that.

My sister just got the Thunderbolt so I will try it out some. I've read you can download an app to disable the 4G when not needed and that greatly improves the battery life. I know about the extended battery but feel the phone is already at its limits size wise.
